Development Centres

Development Centres are a method of reliably and fairly observing participants’ strengths and areas for development and the need for behavioural change.  This is achieved by:

  • using objective and standardised processes with all participants, leading to a appraisal of strengths and weaknesses;
  • assessing ability using different methodologies allowing candidates to display a more ‘rounded’ impression of their skills and abilities;
  • by conducting an objective synopsis of participants’ strengths and development needs in relation to a set of management or leadership competencies;
  • using appropriate simulations, work samples and other tools which are tailored to reflect role demands and indicate strengths and development areas.

Development Centres can be run for large or small groups of applicants and are particularly useful for leadership development.
